Car accident...

Unread postby Shrink908 » Fri Oct 12, 2012 9:04 pm

I may not be as responsive to requests for a couple days.. I got rear-ended by a pickup truck earlier today and am in some pain from it.. Plus the trunk on the car is stuck closed and I have to figure out how to resolve that.. *sigh*

My poor car.. it's 38 years old in it's ENTIRE previous 4 decade life it never got the level of damage it's got in the past year of me using it

This is 2nd time it's been rear ended, first time my neighbor was driving it and some idiot failed to see the car (18 foot long, 6 1/2 feet wide, how do you not see the car?!) and nailed it, this time an air force sgt had a wasp crawling on him and moved to keep it from stinging him in the >balls< and accidently hit the gas

For some reason... If I'd have been the one rear ended in that particular situation, I couldn't really hold it against the dude. Plus, well, full coverage is a good thing!

Sucks, though, duder. Hope things work out well!

I was rear-ended once. Whiplash is a pain in the... well, neck.

Actually, a pain in the ass would redefine rear-ending. Can you get whiplash of the butt?

I'd tell you to cut the hinges off the trunk and pull it off of the car, but it seems that this car has some value, so instead I shall advise against it

I'm going to try getting at the latch mechanism from underneath.. It seems like just the lock cylinder broke but the catch is intact, so if I can remove the cylinder I can work the catch with a screwdriver and replace the cylinder.. Had to do this before on my dad's 1970 Buick... And yes, it has value to me.. It's a tough old beast, it may not be efficient on fuel, but it's saved my life and it runs better than you'd expect for it's age..

You may be able to pull the back seat and get into the trunk that way. Not sure about older chevys but thats how i got into the trunk on the plymouth I rebuilt
Spoiler:
"I'll bet Shego thought it would be really scary, huh? To fall so ferociously in love with someone like that. To be tied to someone like that, to be vulnerable to someone... to give away control. Me too. We're both madly competitive. And we didn't plan on it happening. It wasn't something I scheduled: '10:30 English, 11:15 Fall in love.' It just sort of snuck up on me, on us. But I found that I'd given away my heart, that she'd had taken it, accepted it, scars and all; that I held her heart in my own hands, with every one of its beautiful, deadly flaws. And suddenly, I realized I'd found a soulmate, someone special, precious, someone worth fighting with, fighting for. Only Shego and me, me and Shego. It was wonderful, and crazy. There are a million reasons why we shouldn't be together. Maybe it was wrong to the world. But for me, it was just so right."
