Just because I think it needs saying, while we all might be a little miffed about the loss for good reasons, Shrink and Sven did their best to prevent loss of data and ensure that our posts don't get censored, which was the problem with the other server. So, while we're all prone to being upset, let's not forget that we still have a board thanks to the hard work of our admin team.

i remember when the whole board went kablooey a few years back. I lost my whole first year of posts, and others lost more. That included a lot of my earliest serious writing. It was frustrating, to say the least. There have been other times.

The point being, save your shit.

Benzie, I'll really dumb this down for you. Basically: Shrink had everything after 06-30-12 at 11:30 saved to someone else's computer, and they censored what was being saved... And then there was no back-up because... Idk, there should have been one.

I'm not sure what, other than just being really young, makes you so full of yourself, but I have had enough of you. You have been warned by several senior members of this site and at least two administrators about your behavior. I have chosen up until now to simply ignore you, but this is the last straw.

So a couple days of posts are gone. That sucks, but to me the important thing is the camaraderie of the people here, and that hasn't changed in two days.

Yup!! You can never be to safe. If I had the extra paper I'd print them all off. As it stands. I have copies of some of my stories in hardprint. I should handwrite them all somewhere too. Hmm.

It's a good practice; I have three different thumb drives I update periodically, just in case, and I save things to my Yahoo! account so I can access them anywhere, anytime.

'Course, it doesn't always work out that way because I have a terrible memory...
