Once we get the themes settled the mods won't be too hard.. I just don't want to be modding more than 2 themes each time I have to update the site..

Ok.. I did some work today that had us down for an hour or so.. I added another hard disk to mirror the OS and SQL data drives and when the drives from Sick and Wrong arrive on Monday we'll experience a bit more downtime while I work those drives into the system as a mirror as well. Meantime we're back online.

S'all right. We don't mind scheduled downtime. It's when it goes down without notice that we get worried.

And with mirrored drives, data loss should really be a thing of the past.

And XP had no reason for the BSoD.

Well, it can always happen, but chances of it happening should be way smaller.

Not so much as data loss as catastrophic mechanical failure.

Data corruption gets mirrored all the same. Only way to guard somewhat against that are version control or data repositories coupled with taped backups.

We all appreciate the time and effort going into this!

Seperate backups from multiple times and dates. So like System Restore, if one still doesn't work you can go further back.

I don't have a tape back up drive handy.. Have one in storage though... Just don't have any tapes for the old beast.. I used to have a TK70 drive, but sold it years ago...

Well, data corruption doesn't happen as often as hardware failures do.

Shrink: I just thought of an LTO1 tape library I might be able to get my hands on, but that fucker is so darn heavy and fiber channel... I don't suppose it would do you much good.

No.. Not really.. Hehe.. I'll see if I can find a SCSI card for my old QIC drive and then try to find a tape to see if it still works... The other option would be to put a DVD burner in the machine and use it for backups...

Not sure if this is the right place to say it, but I'm rather fond of the new scheme. Keep up the excellent work!
