Grrr!
Well, here we are in California.. Applied for food stamps and medicaid early last month like we were supposed to.. I have my medicaid card, my wife does not. Food stamps say they could take up to >45 days< from Feb 8th (when we applied) to render a decision. Meantime with the bills we have to pay I have a total of $50 left to feed us for a month. So, if you have anything to spare, we need help. We're doing everything we're supposed to do and STILL having issues.. Fun, eh?

Re: Grrr!
I know if you have less than a certain amount in your account you can get emergency food stamps. I donated what I could spare. Hope it helps!

We're surviving; barely.. Thanks for asking.. Things here could be worse, but it's definitely not "ideal" in any way, shape, or form...

Re: Grrr!
Is your application for food assistance proceeding properly?; Is your Medical in place yet so that it may cover your Medicare
premiums, and for that matter, has a local county Medical plan in place yet to act as supplemental coverage for Medicare?
Medical, in California, has recently been screwing-up royally and sending out erroneous "Action Notices" that produce endless FUBAR.
As it was explained to me by someone going through this Hellish process, they needed to enlist a Legal Aid Society for low-income
people to sort out the Medical mess, and then begin the sisyphean task of getting Social Security to refund them the benefits they
were withholding to cover the Medical shortfall. All of this because Social Security increased these people's income by $4 monthly,
and Medical mistranslated it as a monthly increase of $450, which demanded a share-of-cost Medical payment of $830... that's right;
because their Social Security increased $48 a year, their share of cost was now $9,000+
Welcome to the state that touts itself as the Eighth Largest Economy in the World, the very flower of socialism, liberalism,
and progressive care of the poor...
Yeah, right...
Let me know if the food situation remains dire, O.K.?
Cheers!

We have food stamps to the tune of $194/mo for 2 people... Not really enough. I do have medi-cal, my wife is waiting for them to approve her.. However SSA has said they overpaid me and are now reducing my benefit to recover the overpayment.. However, according to my award letters and bank records they have >not< ever overpaid me.. Always something.
