This is written by a long-time user, Mouserr, who is responsible for the partnership that has resulted in my hosting the KP/ all these years:

A number of years ago when the KP Slash Haven was facing closure because no existing forum would protect privacy while allowing users to post certain content. Proboards and the other free forum hosts have strict policies on some type of picture and a rating limit, and as such are not willing to handle sites such as the KP/. I spoke with a friend of mine and he agreed to host the forum. To this day that arrangement has been going steady even though I have parted ways with the forum as a regular. I still visit and check things out because I loved the forum and users of my time there as much as I am sure current users do.
All that said it is a desperate situation that compels me to write this and it is my hope that this time the KP Slash Haven can help us save our home. Shrink has been ill with having end stage renal disease (kidney failure) and a heart attack that resulted in him losing his job, as most of you likely know. Without your help, not only will the Haven lose it's hosting and an admin but we will find ourselves having to split up our household and possibly end up homeless. If most of the Haven's users pitch in just a dollar things would be better, if enough people donate a mere $5 we would be in considerably better shape.
