I know, this is out of order BUT

gargoylekitty wrote:Can't see the 'online' under tha avatars though it looks better than under 'quote'. Still should cut down on avatar size though.

I'm not sure how to make it so that it's not under the avatar.. :(

Lord Kellendros wrote:M'yeah, no... Information on the left does not work for me unless you drastically reduce the width of allowable avatars.

Edit: looks like 150 pixels wide would work for 800x600 resolution users.

I set it to 200X200 pixels

But it looks better than before. Thanks to whoever did that. :)

welcome ^_^

152 is how wide mine is, and it goes right up to the edge of the divider line... or at least, it did, back when you had those on the right side of the posting information instead of the left. ;) :P

Not to be a pain, but I think, say... 200 for height would be better than 150 for hight as well... (and the fact that my avatar is 167p high has nothing to do with that oppinion... ;) :P)

A possible hack to get around the banner/online interaction might be to put some white-space at the beginning of the info column.

nope. i was looking at the code and it'd be a lot harder than that. i think the person who wrote the code must have had 3 different degrees and didn't expect anyone to change it for their liking.

Now, I don't know HTML. Or Java. Or Java script. The list goes on. But I'd still be interested in taking a look at said code. Pretty please? I can copy hack like you wouldn't believe too!

*grumbles*

We moved it... It's on the right by default in phpbb3.. BTW.. Being OCD is not a valid reason for us to change the entire site around.. :P We did it well before I knew this post existed.

OstermanA wrote:The part of the User Control Panel (UCP) that normally has the theme selector for phpBBv3 is currently... not there. I suspect this means there is but a single theme at this time, and the layout of the page is dependant on the theme used. I'm sure that after the more critical fixes & tweaks are complete, you could probably start a poll for which alternative themes would be most popular.

It's unlikely we will make more than one theme available. I'm working on documenting how to make changes to the themes properly and it's a pain in the ass.. So once we get back to something similar to what existed before it's likely to just stay that way and never be touched again. At least by us.. If one of the other admins wants to fuss with it and doesn't damage the existing work, that's up to them.

BTW, Shrink, is this the new site you were coding, or just another placeholder? Either way, it looks weird.

But I guess I'll have to live with it.... *sigh*

This isn't either of the two.. This is an updated version of what was already being used.. I really haven't had time to even >start< work on my forum code idea, not sure I ever will at this rate.

With the amount of changes between phpBB2 and 3 I'm not sure she'd be able to fix this.. :>

I'd originally set avatars to 320x200 so they could double as profile photos if people wanted.. Personally I was happy with the information on the right side of the post.. worked out easier that way.

Yeah, I found a great fix for the sig and avatar dilemma. I turned 'em both off. :P

Anyhoo, I have little to offer in terms of genius and know-how, but if there doesn turn out to be something that needs doing that a trained monkey could handle, just let me know. I'll be on it like stink on shit.

Kudos to all for the hard work and fixing of the board.
